The Most Interesting (Toddler) in The World...

Max apologizes on behalf of his mother for the long gap between postings.  His fascinating life has kept her so busy, she was remiss in keeping his admirers up to date. What has he been up to you wonder? Well, he is a toddler of few, few words.  He manages to say nothing (okay, except the occasional loud noises), yet convey all manner of thoughts, ideas, emotions.
He is….”The Most Interesting Toddler in the World”…..

For those of you unfamiliar with Max, or just simply mystified, his admirers have compiled a list of quotes that capture the true essence of who he is:
·  The next level thinks he is the next level.
·  The moon is actually orbiting him.
·  It is known that when he sneezes... followers gather for religious beliefs.
·  He once fired a sippy cup at his enemy… but his stare made the kill.
·  He doesn’t give high fives; only points knowingly.
·  He is his Godfather’s Godfather
·  He once had a staring contest with himself….four days later, he won.
·  His Mother has a tattoo that says "Son"-everyone knows it is in reference to him.
·  He always makes sense because he always makes poop.
· He does not know what he does not know...nor does he care.
·  Food automatically appears, when he is hungry.
·  When people pay attention to him, he keeps the change.
·  Elmo fears him
·  Once he thought he was wrong… that was the only time he was ever wrong.
·  He doesn’t believe in using bibs.
· He believes sleeping is for the weak.
· For him 15 min early is 10 min late (for his snack)
· His imaginary friends are many and they are interesting
· If ever a woman were there who could resist his charm…well, let’s face it. There’s not.
· Sheep count him to fall asleep.
· He can win an argument with a knowing look (or grunt).
· He doesn’t make wishes on his birthday, he grants them.
· He’s a lover not a fighter, but he fights as great as he gives hugs.
· The Force uses him … but only because he’s okay with that.
· When he sneezes, God says bless you.
·  He believes pacifiers are for suckers.
·  He does not sort shapes, they work themselves out in his presence.
·  You know exactly what he is thinking just by looking at him.
·  He can make every woman feel special just by being in the same room.
·  He is fearless….(except when trapped alone in a pack-n-play with his cousin Rosalie)
·  Pre-schoolers want to be like him when they grow up.
·  He may be small for his age, but only because he does not believe in waste.

He does not drink often, but when he does…he prefers Organic.

Welcome!

I, like many women, am a hard-working mother of two, and wife of one. Although I find myself perpetually swamped, busy, overwhelmed, fatigued, and pulled in every direction, I do find that each and every day provides me with a little bit of humor, perspective, and a sense of gratitude if I just pay attention. Where do I find these occasional glimmers of brightness you may ask? Sometimes it's from my dear husband, Mike. But, since he is an adult, and also the victim of cynicism as most adults are, I find more often than not, that these little moments come from my two sons. My oldest, Miles, is 4 years old. When Miles was born, we showered every spare ounce of attention, knowledge, experience, and all our expectations onto him. So, being the first child, he had the benefit of having his every life experience documented by pictures or video. However, my youngest, Max, who is now 16 months old, did not fare as well. You see, him being the second child, unfortunately did not have his each and every move documented, his every milestone memorialized on his own website, nor are there numerous framed pictures of him around our home. This is not because we love him any less. It's simply because we are older, busier, and, well...you know how it is once the second kid comes.
But, I have realized my Max is one of THE funniest human beings I've ever met. I find myself wishing all the time that I had a permanent video on him to capture his constant shenanigans. But alas, I do not. So, instead, I am devoting this blog to him. Perhaps this blog is in some part out of the guilt I feel that I (we) did not shower Max with overwhelming amount of neurotic attention that we gave Miles when he was a baby, or the guilt that 90% of his clothes, shoes, and toys are hand-me-downs. Nevertheless, it's purpose and result will hopefully put a smile on some of your faces. There will be occasional appearances and posts of his older brother Miles of course, but the focus will primarily be about Max.
Now I know every parent thinks their child(ren) are the most special, the funniest, the smartest, etc.... And I get that. But, since I only have two of my own, I can only regale you with their fantastical-ness as I see it. They are absolutely the most precious blessings in my life, and I wouldn't trade all the tea in China ( or all the lottery winnings in the world) for them.
So I hope you will check in occasionally and see what Max has been up to. But, there a few things you must know. First, I can't guarantee you will be as amused as I am by him and his adventures, but I think you will, and at the very least you can look forward to a cute picture of him with each post. Second, I reserve the right to take creative license in my story-telling, but I promise to try and make them interesting. And, third, I can't promise to post every week, but I will try to post at least twice a month. Deal?
So, I hope you will subscribe and enjoy!!
