Max

Max
Here I am!

About Me and this blog...

I, like many women, am a hard-working mother of two, and wife of one. Although I find myself perpetually swamped, busy, overwhelmed, fatigued, and pulled in every direction, I do find that each and every day provides me with a little bit of humor, perspective, and a sense of gratitude if I just pay attention. Where do I find these occasional glimmers of brightness you may ask? Sometimes it's from my dear husband, Mike. But, since he is an adult, and also the victim of cynicism as most adults are, I find more often than not, that these little moments come from my two sons. My oldest, Miles, is 4 years old. When Miles was born, we showered every spare ounce of attention, knowledge, experience, and all our expectations onto him. So, being the first child, he had the benefit of having his every life experience documented by pictures or video. However, my youngest, Max, who is now 16 months old, did not fare as well. You see, him being the second child, unfortunately did not have his each and every move documented, his every milestone memorialized on his own website, nor are there numerous framed pictures of him around our home. This is not because we love him any less. It's simply because we are older, busier, and, well...you know how it is once the second kid comes.
But, I have realized my Max is one of THE funniest human beings I've ever met. I find myself wishing all the time that I had a permanent video on him to capture his constant shenanigans. But alas, I do not. So, instead, I am devoting this blog to him. Perhaps this blog is in some part out of the guilt I feel that I (we) did not shower Max with overwhelming amount of neurotic attention that we gave Miles when he was a baby, or the guilt that 90% of his clothes, shoes, and toys are hand-me-downs. Nevertheless, it's purpose and result will hopefully put a smile on some of your faces. There will be occasional appearances and posts of his older brother Miles of course, but the focus will primarily be about Max.
Now I know every parent thinks their child(ren) are the most special, the funniest, the smartest, etc.... And I get that. But, since I only have two of my own, I can only regale you with their fantastical-ness as I see it. They are absolutely the most precious blessings in my life, and I wouldn't trade all the tea in China ( or all the lottery winnings in the world) for them.
So I hope you will check in occasionally and see what Max has been up to. But, there a few things you must know. First, I can't guarantee you will be as amused as I am by him and his adventures, but I think you will, and at the very least you can look forward to a cute picture of him with each post. Second, I reserve the right to take creative license in my story-telling, but I promise to try and make them interesting. And, third, I can't promise to post every week, but I will try to post at least twice a month. Deal?
So, I hope you enjoy!!
